14th Edition
The Brussels Short Film Festival counts 25 000 visitors, 2 558 film submissions for the national and international competitions (with an official selection of 90 shorts in the end) and showcases 300 films from over 40 countries. The Festival includes approximatively 92 screenings featuring 5 shorts each (max. 30 minutes / short film)

From April 28th to May 8th.

The Festival's Opening Night will feature silent films accompgnied by Serge Bromberg's storytelling and live piano music.

Biarritz


We offer a 'carte blanche' to the Festival de Cinémas et Cultures d'Amérique latine of Biarritz. A unique chance to get a sense of latino shorts that got programmed and awarded in Biarritz. Also a good way to celebrate the cities Ixelles and Biarritz, who've teamed up since 1959 ! Congrats !

Very Shorts

The shortest films (max 3 min.) of the international production, screening in Brussels but also in 80 cities in France  and 15 countries : Switzerland, Germany, New Caledonia, Brazil and Romania, amongst others.

Suitable for 6 year olds.

Séances scolaires

The Festival gives the oppotunity to students to discover the art of short film. Different topics will be approached in 2 programmes ; one for the 6-12 years and the other for the 12-15 years old.

European Film Awards

3 programmes of awarded shorts from prestigious film festivals such as Berlin, Venice or Rotterdam.

Nuit du Court

Here we go again, for the 4th time ! The Festival will open its doors for yet another night of funny, crazy and unusual short films and clips. Be aware, we'll keep you awake until very late !

Interactive Screening (Les Perles du Net)

You can decide of the programme and choose your favourite topic. Speak out loud and watch the best of the net ! Our master of ceremony will help you making up your choice.

What if you had the possibility to change your past or travel to the future ? Get ready to travel in the time !

 Kino Kabaret

Do you want more of creative films ? The International KinoKabaret of Brussels gives  the means to young creators to make short movies on the time of the Festival. Come and see what they manage to do in shuch short notice ! Fun and creation on and beyond the screen.

Hungary

This programme will be dedicated to Hungary, to celebrate their presidence of the Council of the European Union, as well as their impressive cinematography through eclectic shorts. 2 programmes to discuss war, rags, tripes and onions... A little bit of everything without taboo.

Basque Country


This programme will be a bright focus of Basque Country's best shorts.
